Mind Renovation Day 18 – A Beautiful Mind

What is a beautiful mind? Art is always subjective and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is very subjective to people, but not to God. What does a beautiful mind look like to Him?

A Beautiful Mind…

Receives revelation from the Spirit

Imagine a thirsty dry plant in need of a major summer soaking. Cheers of joy arise as the rain begins to drip, drip, drip down. Life and refreshment to the dehydrated and exhausted soil provided abundantly. Provision bestowed…but not received because of the umbrella shielding the clay from the downpour. What umbrella do you hold that hinders the downpour of God’s thoughts?

Are HIs thoughts sinking in?

These umbrellas are mindsets that limit and block our thoughts from receiving God’s. It could be insecurity, a scarcity mentality, fear, or many other things we throw up as EXCUSES.

Umbrellas sound like this…“I couldn’t do that because I owe too much money. I can’t dream that because I’m too old. I couldn’t have that because I know it’s too expensive. I couldn’t try that because I’m too scared.”

God pours HIS THOUGHTS and DREAMS out and we put our hand over the cup saying, “Oh, no thank you. I couldn’t possibly have that.” (Did you read the statement in a proper British accent? Because we usually resist God’s thoughts very politely…yet firmly.) Our cup is empty and in great need of refilling, but we stop the downpour and keep GOD’s IDEAS at bay for fear that it’s too good to be true.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1 Corinthians 2: 12

God's Pouring Out

The real question is what does God think? What is He trying to download by His spirit to commune with your spirit?

Communion = the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level / the service of Christian worship at which bread and wine are consecrated and shared.

The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can’t receive the gifts of God’s Spirit. There’s no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit—God’s Spirit and our spirits in open communion. 1 Corinthians 2:15 Message (underline added)

It’s time to breakout of the mindsets that stop heaven’s thoughts and ENLARGE our CAPACITY to receive from the Spirit!

A Beautiful Mind…

Is governed by the King and submitted to His word.

A beautiful mind is a sound mind ruled by the King. Your mind in Christ is not a crazy FRAT PARTY with no boundaries or responsibilities. “And the government shall be upon His SHOULDERS,” (Isaiah 9:6) Do you have a good head on your shoulders? When you are IN CHRIST you come under HIS governing administration. You have the benefits of HEAVEN’S government. If He says it’s yours; it’s yours! Our thoughts should be centered around the will of King Jesus, not our limited attempts to rule ourselves.

But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2: 16 NIV

The Greek word for “have” is echo. We echo the mind of Christ.

Have = (échō in Greek) to have, to hold, own or possess, to hold one’s self to a thing, to lay hold of a thing, to adhere or cling to / TO BE CLOSELY JOINED TO A THING

We HOLD His Word in our mind, echoing His promise.

“What no eye has seen,
 what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.” 1 Cor. 2:10

Revealed:(apokalyptōto) uncover, lay open what has been veiled or covered up / disclose, make bare

God has BIG things to REVEAL to you–unique destiny with your name written on it. If it needs to be REVEALED it’s in the UNSEEN now, not hidden FROM YOU, but FOR YOU! Connect your mind to God’s mind for you. Pray in the Spirit and commune with Him. You have a beautiful mind–the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16

Prayer:

Lord, send a deluge of your spirit to REVEAL the thoughts you think towards me. Enlarge my capacity to see your UNSEEN things prepared uniquely for me. I repent for any mindset that limits your rule and reign in my mind. Help me think your abundant thoughts. I yield and submit my mind to the government of Christ Jesus. I will serve you, Lord with my mind. I have a beautiful mind. I have the mind of Christ. I will hold on to it and possess it. Thank you for your love for me that you want to talk and commune with me intimately. Download heaven into my Spirit. Open my spirit to receive from your spirit in beautiful living communion.

Scripture:

Day 18. However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. NIV 1 Corinthians 2:9-10, 16

Big Thought:

Don’t limit your mind, think like heaven thinks.
